Supervisors to vote on courthouse roof
The Gage County Board of Supervisors are scheduled to award a bid for a new courthouse roof Wednesday.
No vote will be made involving a decision on possible replacement of the courthouse Christmas lights, Ron Fleecs, District 5 supervisor, said.
Some Gage County residents are concerned that a slate roof could prevent future installation of Christmas lights on the courthouse.
Slate is not only slick and dangerous for the people who put the lights up, Fleecs said, but it is also easily breakable if stepped on, so hanging the lights won't be an easy option.
